Use this tool to help understand what your measurements can tell you about your health.

Body Mass Index (BMI)

How do you know whether you fall in a high risk weight category? In order to establish a simple method of measuring obesity, Body Mass Index (BMI) was created. BMI is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women. In order to calculate BMI, you take your body weight in kilograms and divide it by the square of your height in meters. The resulting number generally indicates the level of your obesity, along with the risk for weight-related complications you may face.

Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR)

And it's not only about how heavy you are. Research is pointing to the way you carry your weight as another indicator of increased health risk. Central obesity can be determined by measuring the Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR).

Waist Circumference (WC)

The size of a person’s waist size can also help predict obesity-related disease risk. A waist size greater than 40 inches for men and 35 inches for women increases risks for most weight-related illnesses.
